Carmelo Anthony and his son, Kiyan Anthony made an appearance at the Global Citizen Festival 2023 in Central Park, New York City, on September 23rd. The event brought together thousands of passionate individuals, artists, and advocates committed to the cause of ending extreme poverty.
Carmelo, inspired by the festival’s mission, took to social media to share his thoughts. Alongside photos of him and Kiyan at the festival, the basketball legend wrote, “What we do and say makes a difference. Inspired by the great music and minds at #GlobalCitizenFestival in Central Park this weekend striving to make the world a better place.”
In addition to their appearance at the festival, there’s more exciting news on the horizon for the Anthony family. Kiyan recently signed an NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deal with the popular PSD underwear brand.
Standing tall at 6-foot-4 and currently a junior at Long Island Lutheran High School, Kiyan Anthony is making waves in the world of basketball. He is widely regarded as a Top 50 prospect in the 2025 recruiting class and is ranked No. 38 by 247Sports.com and No. 41 on ESPN.com’s listings for his class. Notably, he has already received a scholarship offer from Syracuse University, following in the footsteps of his father, who won an NCAA national championship with the Syracuse Orange in 2003.
Carmelo Anthony, however, remains committed to letting his son enjoy the journey at his own pace. In his own words, “I allow him to be a teenager. When the time comes to turn the heat up, we’re going to turn the heat up, but right now, I want him to be a teenager, I want him to be a kid, I want him to just enjoy this process. That’s what matters.”
