Jordan Craig, the ex-partner of Tristan Thompson, has filed a request to maintain the $40,000-a-month child support payment for their six-year-old son, Prince.
This move comes despite the fact that Thompson, a player for the Los Angeles Lakers, has experienced a decrease in earnings from $17.7 million to $9.2 million annually.
On August 9, Craig filed an “abstract of judgment”, which is a document that is used to create a public record when a debt is owned.
In this particular case, the “debt” would be Thompson’s child support payments. However, according to the DailyMail, there is no indication that Thompson has missed payments.
Craig and Thompson began dating in 2014; however, the pair’s relationship soured and ended while Craig was pregnant with her only child.
Back in November of 2018, Craig wrote in court documents that she believed Thompson was serious about forming a family with her and Prince. She stated, “Tristan insisted he would change for our family, and tried to get back together on numerous occasions.”
Shortly thereafter, Thompson was then linked in a relationship with Good American co-founder, Khloe Kardashian. Kardashian and Thompson are parents to six-year-old True Thompson and one-year-old Tatum.
In addition to Prince, True, and Tatum, Thompson is also father to one-year-old Theo Thompson. Theo’s mother is 33-year-old fitness trainer, social media personality and model, Maralee Nichols. Thompson and Nichols convinced Theo while he and Kardashian were still dating.
Although there was plenty of media attention and negativity surrounding Theo’s birth, the Houston, TX-native made it clear that the attention was truly unwanted and unwarranted.
“Instead of focusing on any negativity, I am choosing to embrace being a mother and doing the best I can for my son. I do not want any further media attention, nor do I want a romantic relationship with Tristan. My goal is to raise our son in a safe, healthy, loving and private environment.”
It is reported that Thompson pays a combined total of $120,000 a month in child support to all three women.
