Nia Long has filed a petition seeking full custody of her 11-year-old son Kez Udoka, whom she shares with Ime Udoka.
The actress aims to attain sole physical and legal custody of Kez, while allowing Udoka visitation rights. The ‘Friday’ actress is also asking all attorney fees for the case be paid by Udoka.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, the case was filed by celebrity attorney Samantha Spector to “determine a parental relationship” since the former couple was never married.
The petition comes following Ime Udoka’s affair with a female staff member of the Boston Celtics, where he served as the head coach. Ime acknowledged his actions, expressing remorse and accepting the consequences In a statement issued at the time, he expressed remorse for disappointing both his family and the team.

“I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment,” he said in September.
Long has openly discussed the emotional impact of Udoka’s affair on their son. She shared with The Hollywood Reporter that Kez continues to grapple with the aftermath, facing moments of difficulty
“He still has moments where it’s not easy for him,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public,” she added.
She continued, “No one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK, It’s very disappointing.
