“I went to my baby Cairo’s first dance recital,” Tia told her social media fans. “She did SO well and had so much fun, and I loved every single second of it,” the celebrity mom shared. “It was such a special, full circle moment for me as a mom to see her performing @officialdadance since I was also directed by Debbie in 2006.”

Debbie Allen directed an episode of The Game in 2006. Tia portrayed the beloved Melanie Barnett at the time. Mowry’s time on The Game lasted nearly 10 years. The actress ended on a high when changes to the format of the show presented the notion of her serving more as a guest star instead of a regular.

The Game was canceled from the CW, so there was a timelapse,” Tia said when recently discussing the politics behind her decision to leave the show. “Pooch [Hall] (Derwin) ended up booking a show, and he was a regular on the show, which made him reoccurring on The Game,” Mowry explained.

“So they said, ‘Well, you could come back but only as recurring.’ And I valued myself,” Tia shared. “And I said I feel like I’m more than a recurring. I am a regular. And I said ‘no.’”

Turning down a recurring role on The Game led to Tia accepting a regular role on Nickelodeon’s Instant Mom. The actress went on to portray Cocoa McKellan in Netflix’s Family Reunion, which ran from 2019 through 2022.

Still, even with dozens of acting roles filling her resume, Tia holds a special place in her heart for dance.
“I love to dance,” Mowry shared during a recent interview. “And a lot of people don’t know this, I actually was a dancer,” the actress revealed. “The first jobs I got were being a dancer, so I danced with MC Hammer,” Tia said.

Will Cairo follow in her mom’s footsteps as an entertainer? Fans will have to keep up with the youngster on Instagram to find out!
