Sky Clara has only been a member of the Roker/Laga brood for 18-days, but she has already claimed the hearts of everyone in the family. Recently, the longstanding Today journalist/weatherman, Al Rocker’s daughter, Leila, had the opportunity to meet her niece for the first time. And of course, “Pop Pop” was all choked up as he had “tears in my eyes,” witnessing the occasion.
On her own Instagram Story, Leila captioned a photo of herself holding Sky writing, “Welcome baby Sky! I love her so much already.”
Courtney Roker, Sky’s mother, and her husband, Wesley Laga, welcomed their first child, Sky Clara, to the world on July 3, 2023.
And the 68-year-old NBC personality was immediately smitten. He posted on Instagram a carousel of the adorable baby girl saying, “And then this little girl came into my life. Welcome to the world, Sky Clara Laga. In love all over again. Thank you, Courtney and Wes for such a perfect blessing. You baby is beautiful. Already planning the ways to spoil her and then hand her back.”
Roker recently gave an update on the new parents saying that one is recovering and the other is realizing the gravity of being a parent.
“You know, Courtney had a [cesarian section], so she’s struggling a little bit with that. And Wes, you know, I think the gravity of being a dad. But he still has that buoyant personality.”
Courtney and Wesley tied the knot in 2021.
In addition to Courtney and 24-year-old Leila, Roker is also father to 21-year-old Nick Roker. And uncle Nick is over-the-moon with their new addition to the family, Roker said that after his son held Sky Clara that he was “enthralled”.
“Nick is over the moon,” Roker shared with People Magazine. “He said, after he finished holding her, ‘I’m enthralled.’”
Congratulations to the Roker/Laga family! We cannot wait to see more pics of this adorable new addition. We want to continue doting on her as well!
