Keke Palmer‘s boyfriend, Darius Jackson, is doubling down amid backlash for his controversial comments criticizing the Nope actress for “not dressing like ‘a mom.”

The 28-year-old posted on Twitter, “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is.”
Jackson continued, “This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”

Well, if you need to catch up, and are not sure exactly what is going on, let’s rewind.
On Wednesday, Palmer attended Usher’s Las Vegas residency sporting a black bodysuit under a sheer dress with matching stilettos. In a video, Usher serenaded the 29-year-old actress with “There Goes My Baby.”
Palmer, a songstress as well, also took a brief turn at the mic. All appeared to be innocent and simply a girls just wanna have fun night.
Jackson, however, wasn’t pleased. He wrote on Twitter, “It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom.”
Palmer fans came out in droves in defense of the 29-year-old. And of course, the True Jackson, VP star spoke out for herself.
“I wish I had taken more pictures but we were running late! I am telling y’all right now, if you haven’t seen @usher YOU MUST GO!! HE WAS SO FABULOUS!! Giving theater, Atlanta downnn, tips and tricks and just absolutely iconic. I was truly inspired as a performer. I whooped some ass in spades too! Where is that pic of us all together with the King himself?? @noraradd.”
Prior to becoming parents, the pair met at a VIP Hollywood party, hosted by Issa Rae and Diddy, in May 2021. At the time, Jackson was nothing but proud of his girlfriend and gushed over Palmer.
The fitness trainer wrote on Instagram at the time, “You’ve been a blessing from above. Never would have expected summer 2021 to turn out the way it did, but here we are. I’m glad we were able to help each other throughout our lowest of times & show one another that what we are bringing to the table is everything that we got.”
