Zion Williamson is expecting a baby girl with his partner, Ahkeema. The New Orleans Pelicans player revealed the news all at once with a gender reveal party to remember.
Zion shared the news of his becoming a Girl Dad along with pictures from the gathering. The photographer was sure to take a picture of his shirt for the party, which read, āIām here because I donāt want to get yelled at.ā Ahkeema was brought to tears in one of the shots that many believed captured her reaction to learning she would soon give birth to a baby girl.
āWishing you much happiness,ā one social media follower said after seeing the candids the real estate agent shared on her Instagram page. āCongratulations my love,ā another fan wrote. āSo happy for you!ā
Many know Zion Williamson as an up-and-coming athlete. He recently signed a five-year contract with the New Orleans Pelicans that will pay upwards of $193 million. The deal has the potential to become even more lucrative if Williamson wins an award.
Zion has not been as active on the basketball court because of an injury. The star athlete expressed desire to āfeel like Zion againā during a recent interview.
āWhen I go to make certain moves, there is that hesitation,ā Williamson admitted. āSometimes there’s not and sometimes there is,ā he said. āI understand the magnitude of these games coming up and I don’t want to be out there hesitating or doing something that may affect my team in a bad way,ā Williamson said of his near-future on the basketball court.
Many expressed happiness for Williamsonās forthcoming role as dad. A few Internet trolls, however, brought up his girlfriendās past to accuse Ahkeema of ātrappingā her daughterās father.
āIf I was his mother, Iād be big mad,ā one Instagram user exclaimed. āShe trapped him,ā the critic added. Another asked, āWhatās with these near 30-year-old women dating and getting pregnant by 23-year-old men?ā
Zion Williamson and Ahkeema are expecting their daughter to arrive later this year.
