Garcelle Beauvais attended the 95th Academy Awards with her sons, Jaid and Jax, this past Sunday (Mar. 12). It was a family affair at the Oscars as the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH) star took the red carpet with her twins.
“Oscars,” Garcelle told her social media fans. “It’s a family affair,” the veteran actress shared. Beauvais also uploaded pictures of her with her sons, which were taken by Malik Daniels. Julie Jules did Garcelle’s makeup for the Academy Awards. Maurie Cornell was Garcelle’s hairstylist for the evening.
“You’re wearing my all-time favorite color,” Ross Matthews said of Garcelle’s gown. “Perfection,” the television host added. “Beautiful,” Ali Landry shared before turning her focus to Garcelle’s sons. “Wait, what,” Landry asked. “Does Jax have a date,” the actress further inquired. “Our babies are so big.”
The world has seen more of Jaid and Jax since their mom joined the cast of RHOBH. Garcelle talked about the show’s popularity during a recent interview with USA TODAY.
“ You can’t fathom how popular this show is,” Beauvais told the press. “I’ve done amazing things throughout my career and worked with some incredible people, but I’ve never got more attention than the announcement of me joining Beverly Hills,” the actress revealed.
“It was surreal,” Garcelle said of her entry into Reality TV. “The first year I have to say yes, it’s daunting,” she admitted. “I’ve never done reality TV before. My second season feels more solidified,” Beauvais said ahead of Season 12 of RHOBH.
“Dorit and I are in a better place, and Rinna too,” Garcelle said of relations with her fellow cast members. “I can’t put all (the drama) away and say we’re best friends,” she added. “So I always say it’s a work in progress.”
Along with bringing an unexpected level of popularity to Garcelle, RHOBH has also brought trolls into the star’s sphere. It was just a few months ago that Beauvais responded to an Internet troll who deemed it appropriate to message her son, Jax, threats. Garcelle and her cast members were united in exposing such bullying.
“I’m usually a very strong woman,” Garcelle wrote online. “I’ve been raised to be strong my life has taught me to be strong but when it comes to my kids! It hurts. It’s not OK,” the actress said. “It’s just a TV show, people,” Garcelle continued. “Scream at your TV, throw something at your TV, but leave our kids alone.”
Jaid and Jax are Garcelle Beauvais’ sons with her ex-husband Mike Nilon. Beauvais has three kids – Jaid, Jax, and Oliver – in all.
