Keke Palmer is basking in the joys of motherhood. She recently shared a heartwarming video clip on TikTok, in which she can be seen serenading her newborn son with Mariah Carey’s “It’s a Wrap.” The video has garnered a lot of attention, with fans expressing their admiration for the actress’s love and affection towards her little one.
In addition to sharing her beautiful moment with her fans, Keke also paid tribute to single parents in a recent post. She reflected on her own experiences as a new mother and acknowledged the challenges faced by those who are raising a child on their own.
In the video, she said, “I just came on here to say, if you’re a single parent, pull out your cape. Matter of fact, clip off your angel wings because I don’t know how you guys are doing it. And I really don’t want this to sound like pandering, or something like this, because I know there’s a million and one reason why somebody wants to be a single parent or has become a single parent.”
Keke acknowledged that some single parents may have “lost somebody,” “don’t want to deal with somebody” or have taken on the role as their own “choice.” As she spoke about being a mom to her first child, Keke became emotional.
“But when it comes to raising a kid, I’ve already learned in these short few days that it takes a village,” she continued. “And sometimes that’s a privilege. And I just want anybody out there that’s a single parents that’s been doing this—friends of mine, people that I don’t know, family members of mine—really in my heart, it brings tears to my eyes. I am just truly, profoundly impressed.”
The actress and her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, welcomed their first child, Leodis Andrellton Jackson, on February 27th, 2023. In her Instagram post announcing the birth of her son, Keke expressed her excitement and joy, welcoming baby Leo during Black History month.
“Black History Month, with a name to match! LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo.”
