Rihanna showing off new pics of her baby to the world via British Vogue was the icing on the cake post her Super Bowl LVII Half Time show. However, it wasn’t until the Fenty Beauty mogul posted the pics to her own Instagram that she sparked outrage. Now, the Umbrella singer is defending calling her baby boy “fine.”
Rihanna’s comment “my son so fine! Idc idc idc!” has many social media users cringing in disgust, openly voicing their opinions online. And of course, the Barbados-born beauty had to clap back as only she could.
One user wrote, “who calls a baby fine?”
Rihanna responded, “his mother!!!”
Another Instagram user wrote, “‘more like cute [and] adorable” since he’s not a “grown man.’”
The 34-year-old soon-to-be mother of two responded, “you just keep your lil cougar paws away from him and we good!”
“riri ik u did not just say “fine” …” another social media user wrote in the Instagram comments.
While another added, “Tell me this isn’t creepy? like huh?”
Just as there were many “disgusted” comments, many came to the singer’s defense as well.
One user explained that the word “fine” was lost in cultural translation. “The women in my family talk like that about babies as well. I think it’s a Caribbean thing to say that. It’s the same thing as saying handsome.”
In her interview with the legendary fashion magazine, Rihanna gushed about being a mom.
“Oh my God, it’s legendary. It’s everything,” the “Diamonds” singer said when talking about her first few months as a new mom. “You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever.”
She continued, “You literally try to remember it – and there are photos of my life before – but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far because…because it doesn’t matter.”
And baby number two? What is Rihanna hoping for?
“Listen, I’m down for whatever. My wish would be I would like to have more kids but whatever God wants for me, I’m here.” I guess now Rocky’s got his son, you can have whatever you like next? “I’m open,” she told British Vogue. “Girl, boy. Whatever.”
We cannot wait for baby number two and more pics of their big brother!
