The Grammy Awards were short by at least one celebrity this past weekend. Chrissy Teigen skipped the ceremony to stay home with her and John Legend’s newborn baby. Esti.
“Happy Grammy day,” Chrissy exclaimed in an Instagram post shared with her fans this past Sunday (Feb. 5). “Had a dress fitting, looked around and realized … What the hell am I trying to prove here? I cannot get up,” Teigen said of her post-pregnancy journey.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen welcomed their baby girl last month. John announced Esti’s arrival during a private concert by telling fans he and his wife welcomed “the little baby this morning.” Dozens on Twitter ran with the news and sent congratulatory remarks to the couple. “What a blessed day,” John told his supporters.
Esti made John and Chrissy parents for the fourth time. The little one arrived more than two years after John and Chrissy lost their son, Jack, in a stillborn birth. Chrissy was reluctant to announce her expectancy of another child last year but, nevertheless, decided to share the exciting news with her fans last August.
“The last few years have been a blur of emotions, to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” Chrissy said of her pregnancy. “One billion shots later (in the leg lately, as you can see!) we have another on the way,” the celebrity mom exclaimed.
“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘OK, if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still,” Teigen shared in reference to her decision to wait a few months before revealing her expectancy to the world. “I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing.”
Esti is the youngest of two daughters John Legend and Chrissy Teigen parent. The couple’s oldest child, Luna, turns seven years old in May. John and Chrissy’s oldest son, Miles, celebrates his fifth birthday in May.
