Pharrell Williams, wife Helen Lasichanh, and son Rocket Ayer Williams attended the Kenzo Menswear Fall-Winter 2023-2024 show as part of Paris Fashion Week(PFW0 on January 20, 2023 in Paris, France.
“I love Paris — just like my home. It’s always so good to me, always, from music to art, to design to fashion, they’ve always welcomed,” Pharrell said to WWD.
Williams and Lasichanh, who married in 2013, have four children together. Rocket, 14, who is the couple’s eldest child, often accompanies his parents to notable events including the Chanel Metiers D’Art 2021-2022 show in Paris, the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival, to name a few.
In addition to Rocket, Pharrell and Helen Lasichanh are also parents to triplets (two boys and a girl), whom they welcomed in January 2017. The pair have yet to reveal their youngest children’s names.
Williams did, however, reveal to Oprah Winfrey in an interview in 2014 the backstory and meaning of his son Rocket’s name.
“In the same way the Indians named their children behind a force or animal or element, we named him after a man-made machine that was meant to go up, meant to ascend,” Pharrell explained.
“Metaphorically it was because it was because of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Rocket Love,’ Elton John’s ‘Rocket Man’ and Herbie Hancock’s ‘Rockit’ — all of my favorite musicians,” he added.
In March 2018, Williams told the Evening Standard that he was “in awe of women and my wife,” explaining, “To carry another heartbeat inside your body for nine months — in my wife’s case she had four heartbeats — is beyond anything a man can give back to the universe.”
He continued, adding, “To give life. That’s something that has changed me, just the infinite amount of respect and gratitude I’m blessed with.”
Williams, one half of producer duo The Neptunes and frontman of band N*E*R*D, has won 10 Grammys and is best known for hits such as Happy, Get Lucky — and Robin Thicke’s 2013 track Blurred Lines.
