DJ Mustard’s ex-wife, Chanel Thierry, is requesting for a “reasonable” child support in the amount of $82,628 per month for all three of their children.
According to The Blast,
“[Chanel] is requesting an order by a California judge on issues of child custody, child support, spousal support, attorney’s fees, and even an order regarding their communication, or lack thereof.
Chanel is asking for joint physical and joint legal custody of their three minor children. However, she is requesting that she has ‘tie breaking authority’ when it comes to the ‘decisions regarding the health and education’ because it has become ‘increasingly difficult to co-parent with Mustard as he does not communicate or answer her text messages.’ Chanel is concerned about the lack of communication and that it will affect the well-being of their children.”
DJ Mustard reportedly earned upwards of $10 million during the 2020 fiscal year. Forensic accountants must determine how much of the entertainer’s income can go towards child support. Still, Chanel claimed her ex-husband could comfortably afford $82,628 every month.
According to court documents, “[DJ Mustard] is a successful American Record Producer who makes an extraordinarily high living wage. [He has] more than enough income to pay for both his and my attorney fees.”
In addition to monthly child support payments exceeding $80,000, Chanel requests her ex pay upwards of $60,000 per month in spousal support. According to a prenuptial agreement, DJ Mustard is presently required to pay his ex-wife $35,000 per month in spousal support.
A California judge has yet to hear the case and make a decision regarding Chanel Thierry and DJ Mustard. The former couple was married for two years before moving towards marriage dissolution last year. Chanel and Mustard were in courtship for a decade before tying the matrimonial knot in 2020.
