The weekend was eventful for Grete and Robert Griffin III. The celebrity couple made headlines after Robert left a live ESPN broadcast to be by his wife’s side for what they both thought was her labor and delivery experience. As it turns out, the celebrity parents’ baby girl was not quite ready to make her grand entrance. Grete took to Instagram on Sunday (Jan. 1) to praise Robert for his love on display.
“First off let’s start by saying that even though baby girl tried to make a dramatic entrance last night into 2023, she decided it wasn’t time yet,” Mrs. Griffin began her Instagram post. “Secondly, let’s talk about my husband,” she shared.
“I gave him a call in the middle of him being on live TV fully expecting to not get a hold of him but I guess when your wife is nine months pregnant and calls you, you answer the phone no matter what you’re doing,” Grete mused. “All I had to say was the word ‘labor’ and this man STOPPED CALLING A BOWL GAME and took off sprinting to the car to get to the airport and get on a four-hour flight to make it home,” Grete shared.
“I love you more than life, baby,” Mrs. Griffin wrote to her husband. “I am so beyond grateful for how you love me, care for me, and what you sacrifice for me,” she continued. “ My HERO.”
ESPN viewers watched as Robert Griffin III exited the Fiesta Bowl last Saturday (Dec. 31) after getting a call from his wife in which she implied she was going into labor. Griffin wasted no time leaving the stadium. In fact, the star athlete sprinted away after receiving well wishes from his fellow hosts.
Grete must have felt as if their daughter was going to make a beautiful scene to close out 2022 as she shared an Instagram post hours before the exciting moment indicating the baby’s potential arrival. “Is the belly ready to party tonight or is the baby coming out with fireworks,” Grete asked.

“January 5th is my prediction,” shared one fan after the hype settled. Grete replied with eyeball emojis. The newest member of the Griffin family will make her mom and dad parents of four kids.
