Congratulations are in order for Nyla Johnson. The ten-year-old author has landed a distribution deal that puts her book in over 200 stores!
The talented young author penned her first book to help others. The first in the The Nyla Chronicles series, “Nyla’s First Day of Kindergarten,” talks about the transition from daycare to kindergarten! The book also talks about meeting new friends, and Nyla getting to know her new teacher.
“I wanted to make people feel comfortable about their first day of kindergarten,” the author said in a recent interview. She also chimed in that although she had a smooth transition from daycare to elementary school, she knows there are many young kids who are afraid.
Nyla’s mother, Tenita Johnson, author, speaker, book coach, and founder/CEO of So It Is Written Publishing, spoke about her daughter’s creativity, saying that, “Nyla has always been creative. She is the person who will write on the walls if you allow her to do so. She draws on her bunk bed. She draws in her notebook. She draws on top of her notebook. She is always doodling, drawing, sketching or writing.”
When Nyla isn’t reading, writing, or in school, she can be found hoverboarding, rolling skating, and hanging out with her friends.
Nyla isn’t just an author, she’s also an entrepreneur in the making herself. She is an animal lover who runs a successful dog-walking business.
Every author had advice for others and Nyla is not different. So, just what is her advice to other budding authors?
Never give up. And no matter what happens or how it seems today, life does go on and it will be better tomorrow.
We couldn’t have said it better, Nyla. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for you.
