Bambi does not understand the uproar over gentle parenting. The Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta (LHHATL) star took to Instagram with her thoughts on Tuesday (Nov. 8).
“I don’t feel like gentle parenting is a direct correlation between your kids being disrespectful,” Bambi told her social media fans. “I feel like gentle parenting is where you create a space for your kids so that they feel like they have a voice, they have an opinion, so you can help regulate their emotions,” she added.
By definition, gentle parenting is a rearing technique in which the parent partners with the child to make decisions. The idea behind the practice is to do what is in the best interest of the child instead of going with societal norms that may not work for every home environment.

Some have scrutinized gentle parenting because of its more laid-back approach to rearing. “My mom was a gentle/ free spirit parent and all I have to say is I would never raise my own like that,” one BCK fan said in response to Bambi’s social media post. “My brother and I were spoiled, entitled brats and stayed in trouble because we knew there weren’t any consequences for our actions,” the supporter continued. “As a child I loved it, but as I grew older I realized quickly I needed to be disciplined. So all I have to say is have a balance between the two.”

Still, others support gentle parenting and other rearing practices that give parents the power to raise their children as they see fit. “To each his own,” another BCK Instagram follower wrote online. “I do a little of both while my guy is the strict parent all around,” the fan added.
“We talk, I let them be who they are but there is a time, for me, that it may come off they tryna (sic) take advantage and run over and with that reprimanding becomes a reminder as to who I am and who you are,” the BCK supporter shared. “I don’t think it necessarily has anything to do with breaking curses but doing and moving differently than how we were treated and raised.”
