Seven-year-old boy, Malakai Roberts is about to become a published author. Snoop Dogg & Master P are about to help Roberts, who was shot in the head and is now permanently blind, publish a children’s book.
“This book is going to be special because Malakai is special,” Master P told WLKY News in an interview. “I mean, this kid has never given up with all the adversity he went through so this book is gonna be special. And it’s all about kids, so we’re gonna be able to teach kids and help Malakai keep his adventures going.”
Master P added, “It’s going to be incredible for the kids. I mean, cause we want kids to know how to overcome adversity and by him losing his eyesight with the tragedies he’s been through, this has been incredible to be able to write a book with Malakai.”
Malakai’s book, Adventures with Malachi: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work, will tackle the theme of overcoming adversity, just as he did. Malakai’s story, unfortunately shares similar echos throughout many cities and neighborhoods. According to Billboard.com, when he was only five-years-old, Malakai’s home was shot at in December 2020. As the gunfire attacked his home, a bullet hit him in the head while he was sleeping next to his mother and brother. The bullet missed his brain by mere inches, leaving him permanently blind and without a sense of smell or taste.
The book is co-authored by Percy Miller, aka Master P. Adventures with Malachi: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work is slated to release in 2023, although there is no exact date. The book will also be available in braille.
Adventures with Malachi: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work will not only take children on an inspirational journey, it will also feature characters from Snoop Dogg’s newest venture, the Snoop Loopz cereal brand.
