Marsai Martin is back in front of the camera with a new project, and we cannot wait to see the final result. However, to give Martin fans a sneak peek at what’s coming up, Paramount+ releases first look at the action and what to expect from the new film, Fantasy Football, starring the Black-ish alum.
In the upcoming movie, from Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Film, that will hit the streaming service on November 25, Martin not only stars in the film but also serves as producer for the project as well.
According to Variety and justjaredjr.com, here is a brief synopsis of what to expect from the action.
In this hilarious and heartwarming father-daughter sports fantasy, everything changes when Callie A. Coleman (Martin) discovers she can magically control her father, Bobby’s (Hardwick) performance on the football field. When Callie plays as her dad, a running back for the Atlanta Falcons, in EA SPORTS Madden NFL 23, Bobby is transformed from a fumblitis-plagued journeyman to a star running back bound for superstardom alongside his daughter and wife Keisha (Rowland).
In addition to Marin and Hardwick, Fantasy Football has an all star cast that includes: Kelly Rowland, Rome Flynn, Elijah Richardson, Hanani Taylor, Abigail Killmeier, Tyla Harris and Isac Ivan.
The soon-to-be upcoming Paramount+ holiday favorite is produced in partnership with The SpringHill Company and Genius Entertainment. The film is based on an original screenplay by Richard T. Jones, Jeremy Loethen and Tim Ogletree. At the helm of the project, as director is Anton Cropper and the movie is written by Zoe Marshall, Dan Gurewitch and David Young.
“I am so excited to be working with such a talented and supportive group,” said Cropper in an interview with Deadline. “Fantasy Football is a culmination of the adrenaline of the NFL and the fun of EA Sports’ Madden NFL, with the heart of a father-daughter relationship. As the father of a teenage daughter, I can’t wait to sit down and watch this with her.”
In addition to Martin, LeBron James, Spencer Beighley, Jamal Henderson, Joshua Martin and Timothy Bourne will produce the project, while Maverick Carter and Jamila Jordan-Theus will serve as executive producers.
