Congratulations to Teyonah Parris and her husband, James Parris, on their expectancy of a child! Teyonah announced her pregnancy on Instagram this past weekend.
“We’re pregnant,” Teyonah told her social media fans. “Whooooo chiiile,” the actress exclaimed. “I’m so excited to share that we have a baby on the way,” Teyonah shared with her supporters.
“There have been so many feelings since we’ve learned that our dream of becoming parents is finally a reality,” Parris said. “My husband, James, and I have felt a mix of shock, lots of nerves, but most of all so much excitement! Seeing the word PREGNANT was such an amazing feeling! We are so blessed and so grateful.”
Some know Teyonah Parris from WandaVision. The actress recently spoke with Collider about the process she went through en route to securing her epic Marvel role.
“Part of my process is, once you do an audition, once I do one, it’s done. It is what it is. I have to let it go spiritually and for my mental health,” Parris shared. “So weeks later it came back and my agent was like, Shauna said, ‘Oh, you know that Marvel thing you went in for? It’s looking really good.'”
Teyonah could not remember the role she went for at the time. “I was like, ‘Hm, no?’ She’s like, ‘Remember the weird thing?’ I was like, ‘Oh! Okay! Right, okay, tell me more!’ And then she was like, ‘It looks like you got the part.’ I was like, ‘Oh my gosh! What’s the part?'”
Teyonah’s agent had to call to confirm the exact role her client would play in the show. “They were like, ‘Hold on, let me call you back and find out,'” Parris reminisced. “She calls back, she’s like, ‘Uh, the little girl from Captain …’ She didn’t even say it before I said, ‘Don’t tell me it’s Monica Rambeau.’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, Monica, the little girl from Captain Marvel.’ I flew off the handle, so excited!”
Teyonah and James Parris are expecting their baby to arrive in the coming months.
