Jojo Simmons and his wife, Tanice Amira Simmons, celebrated their son’s first birthday last week. The celebrity parents took to Instagram to commemorate their little one’s special day.

“Happy Birthday To My Baby,” Tanice wrote to her son. “You’ve reached your mark,” the doting mom exclaimed. “365 days around the sun. You gave me 365 new reasons to smile! Your laughs, your hugs, you’re the sweetest little boy … I couldn’t be more proud to be your mommy! Love you for eternity and whatever comes after that. Happy 1st Birthday!”

Tanice Amira and Jojo Simmons welcomed their son last August. Little Joey arrived weeks after his parents held a gender reveal party that included family members and close friends. Jojo and Tanice were creative with their celebration as the coronavirus pandemic limited the number of people they were able to have at their in-person gathering. Still, the celebrity couple managed to include loved ones through virtual attendance.

Joey made Tanice and Jojo parents for the second time. The celebrity parents welcomed their daughter, Mia KayLee Simmons, in 2016. Jojo and Tanice shared how they were preparing for baby number two months before their son arrived.

“You would think that I would be prepared the second time around but I’m not,” Tanice revealed last April. “I’m still asking questions like when should I start unboxing and when should I do this? [The] second time around, so far I think I am dragging my feet a little bit,” the celebrity mom admitted.

Tanice and Jojo may have been a bit slower with preparing for their son’s birth but they were, nonetheless, ready for his arrival when the big day arrived. Now, they are amazed at his developments such as walking at 10 months, which occurred in June.

Jojo was shocked that his son was able to nearly run to his mom unassisted. “So this happened,” Simmons told his social media fans. “Can you see the excitement from Mia and I (sic),” the celebrity father asked. “Walking at 10 Months.”
