RHONDA ROSS AND SON, RAIF, PROMOTE TRACEE ELLIS ROSS NEW PATTERN BEAUTY PRODUCT

"Now, Raif-Henok And I Both Look Forward To Wash Day"

Raif sat down for a styling session as his mom discussed the ways in which her natural hair has contributed to self-care. “I had a big realization in my early 20s that the decisions I was making about my hair really were coming from an insecurity, and really were coming from a lack of self-love,” Rhonda said of her years as a young adult.

“I had relaxed hair down to my shoulders and very, very quickly, I made the choice to cut it,” Ross shared. “And [I] started to really embrace my hair for what it was: the coils, the curls, the thickness, the fact that it grows up and not down.”

Rhonda Ross let her husband, Rodney Kendrick, cut her hair and start locs. She let them grow for ten years before deciding to let her spouse cut them off. Rhonda decided to rock her curls after cutting the locs. Now, she teaches Raif how to properly care for his hair.

“Growing up, I got the message that something was wrong with my hair because it hurt so much to get it combed,” Rhonda told her social media fans on Thursday (Aug. 4). “Even though I’ve grown to love my hair and instilled that same hair love in my son @RaifHenok, the detangling process can still be painful,” Ross admitted.

Rhonda celebrated the new Pattern Beauty Detangling Nectar in her Instagram post as a product that gently unravels knots. “Not only does it make detangling gentler on the hair and faster, [but] it [also] removes the anticipation of discomfort,” Ross shared. “Now, Raif-Henok and I both look forward to wash day as a moment to bond while I pour love and affirmations into him and his hair.”
