Aventer Gray is getting all the inspiration she needs for healthy living from her daughter, Theory Gray. The motivational speaker and wife of Pastor John Gray of Relentless Church in Greenville, South Carolina, took to Instagram on Thursday (Jul. 28) to celebrate her daughter’s commitment to health and wellness.
“Y’all, Tutu and I have bonded over fitness and having a healthier lifestyle and when I fall off she gets on my nerves,” Aventer said of her daughter’s dedication to fitness. “Even during this difficult time, she is like, ‘Now mommy, what are you doing?’ Stretching relieves stress and is so good for your mental!”
The Gray family have been on a journey to wellness since John Gray was admitted to the hospital for a saddle pulmonary embolism (SPE). The condition is very serious and could lead to sudden death. Pastor John Gray stayed in the hospital for a little over a week before being released and sent home for bedrest and recovery.
“We can’t explain it, but we know that it’s God,” Aventer shared with the Relentless Church congregation before her husband’s release from the hospital. “And that it’s only God that has kept him and that is keeping him even now,” she continued. “He’s in amazing spirits and he can’t wait to see you all again,” Aventer told the church congregation.
Theory and her brother, John IV, were instrumental in keeping their father’s spirits lifted while he was in the hospital. The two sent their dad a throwback video of him making silly faces to entertain them. Theory made her mom promise to “show daddy” what she and her brother found. Now, the youngster is inspiring her mom to embrace wellness every day.
“As she gets older she seems to be a little more conscious about her decisions,” Aventer said of Theory. “She’s even being mindful of the foods she consumes,” the celebrity mom added. “That’s not a bad thing, because I believe the lifestyle that is created for them now is one they will continue as they grow. We are doing our part now.”
