Maralee Nichols is not shocked about Tristan Thompson’s latest baby news with Khloe Kardashian. A family friend of the fitness trainer recently spoke with the press about Maralee’s reaction to the news of Tristan fathering another child.
“She’s truly focused on raising Theo,” the insider revealed of Maralee’s frame of mind in light of the news. The family friend went on to explain why Nichols was not “surprised” to hear rumors of Tristan having another child. “During their relationship, he told her he wanted five to six children,” the insider shared exclusively with Us Weekly.
Maralee Nichols and Tristan Thompson welcomed their son, Theo Thompson, last December. Maralee remained fairly quiet about her expectancy until she was well into her third trimester of pregnancy. Tristan confirmed that he was indeed expecting a baby with Maralee.
“I take full responsibility for my actions,” Tristan said in a statement released after paternity results confirmed he was the father of baby Theo. “Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son,” Thompson shared. “I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.”
Khloe Kardashian’s reaction to Tristan’s baby news was captured during filming for The Kardashians. The Reality TV star was highly disappointed to learn of Tristan’s infidelity along with the general public. Still, Khloe and Tristan reportedly sought to expand their family unit via surrogacy last year.
“Khloé has always wanted a little brother for True and decided to go ahead with having the baby with the support of her family,” an insider familiar with the situation recently revealed. “Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing,” the family friend added. “We’d like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloé can focus on her family.”
Neither Khloe Kardashian nor Tristan Thompson has officially confirmed their expectancy of a child together. Khloe’s representative did, however, confirm that True Thompson would have another sibling soon.
