According Essence Magazine, studies and statistics show that 79 percent of Gen Z, more than any other generation so far, have reported feelings of loneliness and social isolation. Those percentage points continue to climb as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. That is why projects such as this are so important.
“We have been through so much during [the pandemic]. The lack of connection that we’ve been having can slowly feel like you’re alone,” Martin told the popular outlet on the interview. “I want the events in my special Eventbrite collection to encourage people to get out there, try something new and make new connections.”
Martin is truly looking forward to working with Eventbrite to help ensure that no one suffers from loneliness.
“Life is all about going against your fears, finding our confidence, and trying to figure out where we are in life,” Martin said in her interview with Essence. “And I’m not just talking to girls out there, I’m talking to myself as well. We have to get out of our comfort zone. We have to open up because that’s what makes us human.”
To attend any of the events curated by Martin, as she said in her post about the event, “Visit eventbrite.com/marsai and use code CONNECTION2022 to snag FREE tickets to the events in my collection (while supplies last)!”
According to her Eventbrite page, Martin has curated events in select US cities, (including her Texas hometown of Plano, TX), where you can socialize while roller skating, learning Improv comedy, or even making pizza.
Gen Z truly has an advocate in Martin. She will ensure that Gen-Zers know that they are not alone and she is right there with them!
