Da Brat and her wife, Jesseca Dupart, have encountered multiple IVF pregnancy complications. The celebrity couple recently stopped by The Tamron Hall Show to talk about their journey to family expansion.
“[Da Brat has] never experienced [motherhood] and she is a very caring person,” Jesseca told Tamron Hall. “She is the most nurturing person I’ve ever met in my whole entire life. So I just think that that would be great and anything that I’m able to give her in this lifetime I will,” Dupart said.
“Since you’ve been through IVF, you can just imagine the journey, the complications,” Jesseca said to Tamron who also went through IVF treatments to conceive her son, Moses. “I was hospitalized with blood clots,” Dupart shared of her journey. “It’s just been a lot but we were not giving up,” she continued.
“We want a baby together,” Jesseca told Tamron Hall. “So we want it to be, you know, we wanted, we want some of me, some of her. So we both had to go through different things to make it happen. This has been a journey. We haven’t spoken about it much on social because we have had some ups and some downs on our journey, some complications, but we are still in the process.”
Da Brat and Jesseca Dupart announced their expectancy of a child in January. “We are extending the family,” the couple told fans. Da Brat confirmed her and Jessica’s commitment to extending their family despite the setbacks.
“We are NOT stopping our journey, we are not discouraged,” Da Brat told her social media fans. “No matter the ups and downs, NO matter the adversity we will see this through,” the entertainer promised. “Thanks to all those that have supported us in the process and just know we will have a great testimony through this. IVF can be stressful, but the reward will be worth it all.”
