Tichina Arrnold’s daughter, Alijah Kai, is set to drop a new single. The young recording artist took to Instagram on Wednesday (Jun. 1) to announce the impending release of her latest song.
“My first single, ‘Ultimatums,’ is dropping June 16th,” Alijah exclaimed online. “Drop some [hearts] if you fw it,” the young artist petitioned her supporters.
Music lovers cannot get enough of Alijah Kai who began to bud as a recording artist during her teen years. The rising star recently sat down with vocal coach Stevie Mackey who was impressed by Alijah’s vocal abilities.
In many ways, Tichina Arnold’s daughter gets her incredible vocals and stage presence from her mom. In addition to having a successful career as an actress, Tichina also enjoys life as a recording artist. In fact, Arnold had the opportunity to sing during an episode of The Neighborhood last year.
“I’m from the theater, so I love that CBS gave me the opportunity to be able to sing as well and show one of my other talents,” Tichina shared with TVLine during a recent interview. “The episode itself is really funny — and working with Maxie Greenfield is just the best,” Arnold added. “I love when I have scenes with him because he goes all out. His comedy is the opposite of my comedy — and it completely works.”
Some expected Alijah to follow in her mom’s footsteps to the fullest. The young star has not confirmed whether or not she plans to pursue acting. Alijah has, however, expressed her desire to build a career in music.
“For the past year or so I have been working on my music, which means the absolute world to me, and there’s no doubt that I’ve been promising you guys that music would be coming out soon,” Alijah shared with her supporters last December. The teen went on to apologize to her supporters for taking so long to release new tunes.
“Here’s my truth,” Alijah explained. “I’ve been very overwhelmed and stressed out. Because of all the things currently on my plate. From trying to finish my senior year off successfully, becoming a prominent artist, and honestly just finding myself and my voice away from my mom’s,” the budding recording artist said candidly.
“I thought that I could just stick through it and continue to post and give you guys content, but all of this pressure and stress is starting to show in my work/content,” Tichina’s daughter shared. “I think it’ll be best for me to take a step back and really focus on my music and myself. So that I can produce a work of art that I’m proud of as well as something you can connect to. While also giving you my most authentic and true me.”
