If you have a little one, then this name is not unfamiliar to you. CoComelon entertains babies, toddlers, and parents alike, gaining it the title of the most-watched kids brand on YouTube! Well, Moonbug Entertainment is expanding its repertoire as they have confirmed that the CoComelon spinoff is officially happening now!
It’s Cody Time, will feature JJ’s, Cody Green. And of course, parents, babies, and toddlers will love it! The new series will follow Cody, who is not only JJ’s best friend, but he is his classmate, and next-door neighbor.
“Cody’s been a fan favorite to our global audience for years,” Patrick Reese, general manager of CoComelon at Moonbug Entertainment, said in a press release. “We’re excited to launch It’s Cody Time and give fans a chance to get to know Cody and his family a bit better.”
In the new series, viewers will get the opportunity to meet more diverse characters. For example, Cody’s father, Kwame, is a chef, who comes from Jamaican and Ghanian descent. His mom is Black and works full-time as a pediatrician.
“Representation matters,” Reese commented on the diversity in the new series, in the press release. He continued, “and we want to bring more content with diverse lead characters, inclusive storytelling and aspirational role modeling to children around the world.”
The first few episodes of It’s Cody Time, are already on YouTube. Episode 1, entitled, “Cody’s Spy Song,” follows Cody as he is pretending to be a detective to discover the mysterious changes happening around the house.
Episode 2, of the soon-to-be hit show is entitled, “I’m Going to Be a Big Brother.” And of course, you guessed it…Cody is going to be a big brother. This episode revolves around him learning what to expect when his baby sister is born.
