Brandy is thankful for her daughter, Sy’Rai Smith, for giving her purpose and passion. The recording artist took to Instagram on Friday (Feb. 11) to celebrate her birthday with a beautiful note about her daughter.
Brandy’s social media post was in response to Sy’Rai’s sweet birthday wishes earlier in the day. “Happy Birthday to my heart in human form,” Sy’Rai wrote to Brandy. “I love you, mama,” the young star said.
Brandy took to Instagram near the end of the day to reflect on her special day and express special gratitude for her daughter. “You are the reason I was born way back when on this day,” Brandy told her daughter. “@syraismith, thank you for giving me more purpose and passion for life,” the celebrity mom added. “You saved me,” Brandy told Sy’Rai. “I love you infinitely and unconditionally.”
It is not uncommon for Brandy to dote on her daughter while reflecting on her life’s journey as a whole. “I love being a mother because having a child inspires you to be a better ‘you,'” the celebrity said during a recent interview. “The hardest thing about being a mother is that you realize you aren’t perfect and you’ll make mistakes,” Brandy shared.
“But you do the best you can,” the celebrity mom continued. “I teach Sy’rai to always be who you are,” Brandy said of her rearing practices. “Sometimes you can lose yourself if you don’t have a strong foundation, so I talk to her about knowing who she is.”
Sy’Rai Smith has been at the center of things since sharing her weight loss journey with the world. The young adult has also leaned further into the aspect of music and recently enjoyed a session with vocal coach Steve Mackey.
“Brandy might be the vocal Bible by Sy’Rai is the New Testament,” one fan said after watching Sy’Rai’s session with Steve. “She’s coming for blood,” the social media follower declared.
