Kimora Lee Simmons and her kids are giving back to the community. The fashion mogul recently held a Thanksgiving dinner at a local women’s shelter in honor of the holiday.
“Such a special night spending time at @gsc4womenchildren with all the wonderful women and children there,” Kimora Lee Simmons said after the event. “The boys and I passed out many toys, blankets and books from @sackclothxashes and we all enjoyed Friendsgiving dinner and sweet treats courtesy of @beignetbox @toddkrim,” Simmons exclaimed.
“With the holiday season upon us, it’s so important to make time for the people and things that matter,” Kimora told her social media fans. “Thank you to everyone that came out, all of the families we met, and everyone that contributed and donated,” the celebrity mom added. “Note: all these kids and families agreed and WANT to be posted! The little girls told me everyone gets a shot!! I said, “hells yea! Bring it!”
Kimora Lee Simmons and her family gave to those connected with the Good Shepherd Center this year. The organization centers around the goal of ending the cycle of homelessness for women and children.
Homelessness continues to rise in Los Angeles County with the most vulnerable individuals being women and children. Several organizations address youth at-risk of becoming victims of crimes due to poverty. Not as many programs, however, seek to assist individuals with leaving the cycle of poverty and working towards stability overall.
Good Shepherd Center was established to help women get back on their feet so they may become strong providers for their children. According to the organization’s website, Good Shepherd seeks to, “Build for the future by breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness, and by giving women the skills and resources to build independent, self-sufficient lives for themselves and their children.”
