Kevin Hart’s ex-wife, Torrei Hart, is ready to talk about the breakthrough that helped her grow closer to her daughter, Heaven Hart. The comedienne recently opened up about her decision to engage more with her teen during a recent episode of her podcast Breakin Thru.
“When I decided that I wanted to get me and Heaven’s relationship back on track [and] get closer to my daughter, I noticed that huge shift,” Torrei shared. “And now me (sic) and my daughter have conversations that some people will look at it like, ‘I can’t believe she is having this conversation with her daughter,'” the celebrity mom said.
“But My daughter tells me everything,” Torrei continued. “I think I am a pretty good parent if she can tell me every and anything.”
Torrei Hart and Kevin Hart were married for eight years before finalizing their divorce in 2011. Marriage dissolution was a very public experience for Torrei Hart, which led to the celebrity entering a dark stage in life.
“There was (sic) times where I was like, ‘God I don’t want to be here anymore,'” Torrei shared during an interview on The Real a few weeks ago. “Because the divorce was very public, and I also had to watch him move on with a whole ‘nother (sic) woman and a whole ‘nother (sic) family,” the comedienne shared.
“I made a decision to stay happy. I made a decision to move on all the way forward; let the past be the past start on my new journey,” Torrei revealed on The Real. “So that’s when I decided to have the breakthrough,” the celebrity mom declared.
Iyanla Vanzant was instrumental in helping Torrei Hart get to a better place in life. Kevin Hart helped his ex-wife make the connection with the life coach.
“I reached out to him for help, and he put me in touch with Iyanla Vanzant, who became my personal therapist,” Torrei told The Real co-hosts. “That’s part of the reason why I am having this big breakthrough.”
Torrei Hart and Kevin Hart have two kids, Heaven and Hendrix, together. Kevin has four kids – Heaven, Hendrix, Kaori, and Kenzo – in all.
