Chrissy Teigen and John Legend honored their third child, Jack Stephens, on the anniversary of his death. The celebrity parents shared pictures from the ceremony they gave their son who was delivered stillborn last September.
“Took me a year but finally honored his little spirit with some blessings today,” Chrissy told her social media fans earlier this week. “Hopefully, some closure in my heart will happen now,” Teigen shared. “Thank you guys for the kind words,” the celebrity mom wrote to her fans. “It’s a process,” she added.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen shared the tragic news of their son’s passing on September 30, 2020. Some criticized the couple for taking pictures in the doctor’s office. Chrissy responded to the scrutiny with an essay posted on Medium.
“I had asked my mom and John to take pictures, no matter how uncomfortable it was,” Chrissy told her supporters and critics. “I cannot express how little I care that you hate the photos,” the celebrity said. “How little I care that it’s something you wouldn’t have done,” Teigen continued.
“I lived it, I chose to do it, and more than anything, these photos aren’t for anyone but the people who have lived this or are curious enough to wonder what something like this is like,” Chrissy explained. “These photos are only for the people who need them. The thoughts of others do not matter to me.”
Chrissy Teigen wrote a beautiful message to Jack on Tuesday (Sept. 28). “To the son we almost had,” the celebrity mom began her note. “A year ago you gave me the greatest pain I could ever imagine to show me I could survive anything, even if I didn’t want to,” Chrissy wrote to her late son.
“I didn’t get to take care of you but you came and went to get me to love myself and take care of myself because our bodies are precious and life is a miracle. they told me it would get easier but yeah, that hasn’t started yet. mom and dad love you forever.”
