LeBron James attended the Space Jams: A New Legacy premiere with his wife, Savannah, and daughter, Zhuri Nova James, on Monday (July 12). The screening was held at Regal LA Live in Los Angeles, California.
LeBron is the star of the film but the red carpet event was definitely all about Zhuri. The little one took pictures with her parents and alone that were nothing short of precious. Savannah was also fierce in the spotlight while wearing a bright gown that matched her shoes perfectly.
Space Jam: A New Legacy is the story of a basketball star (LeBron James) whose playing skills are out of this world. The star athlete also strives to be a fantastic dad.
“This is a fictional version of myself, but it’s also kind of who I am as well,” LeBron said of the film during a recent interview. “What works so well with the character is I was able to implement a lot of the things I actually do when the camera’s not on,” the celebrity father shared. “For me, to able to produce a movie like this but also to be able to star in a movie like this is very humbling for me, just knowing where I come from.”
Space Jam: A New Legacy director Malcolm D. Lee also discussed the film as it relates to LeBron James. “The thing with LeBron is he’s very professional,” Lee shared during a recent interview. “I don’t think he realized the magnitude of what being number one on the call sheet meant. He found out. But that didn’t deter him,” the director shared.
“He had had an injury his first season with the Lakers and was back on the train getting back to greatness. So he made sure that he was up at like 2 or 3 in the morning every day before call getting his basketball workout in and doing what he needed to do to prepare himself to get ready for the season.”
