Father’s Day was different for DMX’s kids. The celebrity father received posthumous tributes from his children this past Sunday (June 20).
DMX’s daughter, Sonovah Jr., shared a song she wrote for her father. “This was supposed to be my Father’s Day gift to you,” Sonovah wrote to her late father. “So it still is,” the youngster declared. DMX’s fiancee, Desiree Lindstrom, honored the late rapper with a throwback video clip of DMX singing the alphabet song with their son, Exodus.
“Screaming Happy Father’s Day all the way to Heaven above,” Desiree wrote in the caption section of the Instagram post. “Earl, you were such an amazing, protective, loving, inspiring, hands-on, incredible father,” Desiree wrote to her late fiance. “I thank God that @exodus_simmons1 had a father like you,” Lindstrom shared.
“I appreciate every moment you had spent with Exodus. In my eyes, you are the best father a mother could of (sic) asked for when it comes to her child! Thanking God and you for all these memories of you being a wonderful father! I love and miss you so much. I know in my heart you are our guardian angel! Please continue to watch over us!”
DMX died on April 9, 2021, after suffering a heart attack days prior to his untimely passing. The rapper was 50-years-old at the time of his death. Memorial services for DMX were held last month. Desiree and Exodus, however, keep the memory of the late rapper alive by sharing precious moments with social media fans.
A recent post shared online showed DMX and Exodus saying a prayer together. “@exodus_simmons1, the day you grabbed your father’s hands and wanted to pray with him … It was God showing me that us, as your parents were on the right path with you,” Lindstrom said of the footage. “I will always continue to put God first and teach our son to do the same,” she said.
DMX was the proud father of 15 kids.
