Parker McKenna Posey has been feeling the sting of insecurity about her post-baby body. The My Wife and Kids star took to Instagram a few days ago to express her feelings.
“I was feeling really insecure recently and not looking forward to going to Miami and being in anyone’s d*mn swimsuit,” Parker admitted. “[I was] comparing myself to others and just not feeling myself,” the actress shared. “I can honestly say I’ve only felt that way ONE other time in my life. This is new for me … then I realized YES! This is all freaking new to me! I’m a new mom.”
Parker McKenna Posey welcomed her daughter, Harley, just in time for Mother’s Day this year. The celebrity and her partner, Jay Jay Wilson, took to Instagram to celebrate their family’s expansion.
“There’s so many things to say but not enough words,” Jay Jay wrote online. “The love I have for this woman is beyond this lifetime and the next,” the new father said of his daughter’s mother. “I never thought I’d experience a love like this. But you’ve showed (sic) me that the love we share, is the love we deserve. You are the embodiment of Power, Strength, Resilience, and what it means to be a WOMAN!”
Parker recently used her strength and resilience to move away from her feelings of insecurity. “I have to learn my body all over again and learn to love this new woman I have become,” the actress told her social media fans. “I read recently self-love isn’t a destination, it’s a journey,” Posey shared.
“All I know is this body birthed an 8 1/2 pound baby NATURALLY! I’m thankful for it and thankful for all the shapes and sizes I’ve been. None of that will ever take away the fact that I’m the f*cking sh*t! I say all this to say, sometimes you just gotta remind yourself who TF you are and WTF you’ve done! You are the sh*t, period.”
Some misunderstood Parker’s Instagram post and accused the actress of trying to get compliments. “By no means am I EVER fishing for compliments,” the celebrity said in a follow-up post. “But more importantly I don’t EVER want to hurt anyone while I’m sharing my journey,” she added. “To me, it doesn’t matter how many people tell me ‘how good I look.’ It matters how I FEEL about myself.”
“Motherhood has been the best thing that has ever happened to me,” Parker shared. “The amount of love and joy I feel every day is overwhelming. That doesn’t take away the fact that I’m still Parker first. If I don’t feel 100, how can I give my all to my daughter?”
