DMX’s older kids are battling over his estate that is reportedly worth less than $1 million. Court documents reveal the late rapper’s older daughters, Sasha and Jaden, are aiming to have administrative control over the estate like DMX’s sons with Tashera Simmons.
According to New York Daily News,
“The first Surrogateâs Court filing in Westchester County came May 10 from DMXâs daughters Sasha Simmons and Jada Oden, while court papers dated May 21 were filed on behalf of sons Xavier, Tacoma, and Sean Simmons.
Both groups are seeking to become administrators of the rap starâs estate.”
DMX, real name Earl Simmons, passed away on April 9, 2021, after suffering a massive heart attack. The rapper left behind 15 kids and a rich music catalog filled with hits.
DMX’s kids honored him well during his memorial service with his daughter, Sonovah Hillman Jr., delivering her rendition of ‘Slippin’.’ Little Sonovah will also be featured on her father’s posthumous album, Exodus, which is set for release on May 28, 2021.
DMX may indeed have a music catalog that is richer than his financial records. Some family members value the late rapper’s estate to be worth less than $1 million. There is even speculation that Earl Simmons’ estate may be valued at around $50,000, which is far less than what DMX earned from his more than 74 million records sold during the span of his career.
Regardless of how much his estate may be worth, DMX continues to be missed by family and friends. The late rapper’s fiancee, Desiree Lindstrom, recently took to Instagram to express her love for him.
“Woke up, missing the fun times we had, the laughter we shared together, moments of joy I hold close to my heart,” Desiree shared a few days ago. “I miss you so much,” Lindstrom added. “Words canât even explain how affected I am by you not being here with us! I love you, baby.”
