Khloe Kardashian is reconsidering the notion of using a surrogate to have another child with Tristan Thompson. The celebrity mom shared her feelings about family expansion during a recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians (KUWTK).
“A few months ago, Tristan and I made embryos, and during that time I was also told that I would not be smart if I carried my second pregnancy, I would be high risk and to explore surrogacy options,” Khloe told viewers. “So Tristan and I have decided that’s what we’re going to do,” the celebrity declared. “I have a surrogate agent who is, you know, sort of filtering through who they think might be the best fit for me and my family.”
Khloe has taken a few lessons about surrogacy from her sister, Kim Kardashian, who used a surrogate to welcome her younger children. Kim could not give birth to more kids after welcoming her son, Saint West, due to complications during expectancy, which led to permanent damage.
Khloe and Tristan met with a therapist during the recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The celebrity couple appeared ready to pursue surrogacy until they were met with the notion of pregnancy termination. Khloe and Tristan learned that the surrogate can end the expectancy if the embryo were to split and lead to twins.
“It’s your baby but it’s her body,” the therapist revealed. “So she could terminate the pregnancy with any unplanned outcome.”
Both Khloe and Tristan responded to the news with shock. “Oh,” Khloe said. “We never thought about that,” Tristan added. “That’d be something that we have to discuss.”
Khloe went on to reveal, “I’m definitely getting freaked out I think as the questions go by just because I, of course, I know it’s her body, my baby, but I really did not put two and two together that that means she has the control whether she would want to, you know, terminate the twin. Me not having control over that outcome makes me very nervous.”
The meeting with the therapist led Khloe to rethink “a couple [of] things. It’s just a little intense,” the celebrity added.
