Ciara and Russell Wilson are the charitable pair. The Seattle Seahawks player and his wife recently gifted children in the city with savings accounts.
“Financial literacy and building wealth is (sic) so important,” Russell shared with the recipients of his and Ciara’s generosity. “Ciara and I really wanted to talk to you all because we didn’t come from much and we had big visions, we had big goals, big dreams,” Wilson said.
Ciara also chimed in on the importance of financial literacy and security. “All these things can pay back tremendously if you invest in them in the right way,” the ‘Level Up’ singer told the youth. “Investing is very powerful and it will also allow you to create an opportunity to build [a] legacy for your family.”
This is not the first time Ciara and Russell Wilson have given back to their community. In fact, it was just a few months ago that the power couple shared how they help their children understand the importance of charity.
“We’re big believers in ‘lead by example,’ and having conversations with our kids to remind them of how blessed they are and that, ‘To who much is given much is required,'” Ciara shared with the press. “There’s a simple thing that we do: If they get a new toy, we’re kind of taking the approach of, ‘Let’s give some toys back,'” the celebrity mom said of the system of giving in the Wilson household. “They’ve been really blessed, even with clothing and shoes,” the celebrity mom added.
“It’s been one of the best feelings in the world and a huge blessing to know that we can give back in a time where so much is being taken away. We don’t take that for granted,” Ciara further explained. “Our kids have way more opportunity and access than we had when we were younger but because of our journey growing up, we’ll never forget that. And that element is what keeps us humble, so we still need to make sure that we take them through some of what we’ve gone through as well.”
Ciara and Russell Wilson have two kids, Sienna and Win, together. Ciara also has a son named Future Zahir with rapper Future.
