DMX’s fiancee, Desiree Lindstrom, and their son, Exodus Simmons, are heartbroken over the rapper’s death. Desiree recently shared a series of Instagram posts that gave fans a snippet of the pain she has experienced since the untimely passing of her partner.
“I find myself every morning looking through my phone, looking at memories just so I can feel close to you,” Desiree wrote to DMX. “I remember when our son wanted me to record him singing, one of your favorite songs, just so I can send it to you while you was (sic) on the road working,” Lindstrom shared. “You loved to hear Exodus sing so much! You were so happy after you seen (sic) the video, calling me with the biggest smile on your face ever. Our hearts are so broken! We love you and miss you so much, baby.’
DMX passed away on April 9, 2021, after suffering a massive heart attack. The rapper was memorialized on Saturday (Apr. 24) and Sunday (Apr. 25) in the form of homegoing services for family members, friends, and fans.
Desiree took to Instagram on Saturday (Apr. 24) to express her feelings about DMX’s public memorial. “Today is very hard for me and my family,” Lindstrom admitted. “One thing that is keeping me going is knowing that my son and I just gained an amazing angel, my fiancĆ©, and Exodus’s father, Earl Simmons,” the celebrity mom said. “I will forever love you and you will always be in my heart,” Desiree wrote to DMX.
All 15 of DMX’s children were present at the private homegoing service held at Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, NY, this past Sunday (Apr. 25). Many of the late rapper’s kids had words at the ceremony with one of DMX’s daughters summing up her segment with a rendition of one of his hit songs.
DMX was 50-years-old at the time of his death.
