DMX’s twins, Aidyn and K’ydn Simmons, made their debut during their late dad’s Memorial service and subsequent Homegoing Celebration on Sunday. Aidyn and K’ydn were joined by their mother Pebbles Junell as they celebrated the life of the legendary rapper.
The Simmons twins were born to Pebbles and DMX on December 5th, 2019. One of the twins, K’dyn, was born with Down Syndrome.
“I remember being five month pregnant and getting the news that one or both twins could possibly have #trisomy21,” Pebbles shared on Instagram. “Trisomy 21 moms know that in the beginning, acceptance can be one of the hardest part of having a child with Down-syndrome.”
In February of this year, Junell updated her fans and shared that K’dyn is getting physical therapy and will soon be walking. She wrote, “I’m not sure why Allah chose me to be a #trisomy21 mom but I’m SOOOO GLAD HE Did!!! K’dyn is soo strong, motivated and inspiring. My baby never gives up. He finally got his #suresteps. (which is equipment that help build his ankle muscle, which keep his foot and ankle from turning inward) He did such a wonderful job today in physical therapy. He has one more therapy tonight but He’s Gona be right behind Aidyn very soon. Aidyn started walking two days ago and he’s soo excited lol.”
Junell, who is a mom of three, said in a Mother’s Day post last year, “Becoming a mother was the best feeling/Job in the world. Being a #Trisomy21 mom makes you view LIFE totally differently! I’ve change in so many ways. I couldn’t imagine not being Apart of #motherhood or our Trisomy21 community! Thank you God for blessing me with these beautiful children! I promise to be their first teacher, role model and protector!”
DMX, who died on April 9th after suffering a heart attack, is survived by his 15 kids.
