According to Deadline, the 20-episode second season of Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan sees the Wilson family household getting into even more hilarious hijinks. Hip-hop mogul-in-training Dylan, portrayed by Dylan Gilmer, continues his pursuit of stardom, while acclimating to suburban life with uncle Myles, (Carl Anthony Payne II), aunt Yasmine, (Mieko Hillman), grandmother Viola, (Aloma Wright) and cousins Rebecca, (Celina Smith) and Charlie, (Hero Hunter).

Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan is executive produced and created by Tyler Perry with Michelle Sneed as executive producer, and Will Areu and Mark E. Swinton serving as producers. The show, which originally aired in February 2020, follows a family whose world is turned upside down when their nephew, Young Dylan, an aspiring hip-hop star, moves in unannounced. Dylan’s grandmother Viola (Aloma Wright) realizes that raising her grandson is too much to take on, so she decides to send him to live indefinitely with her affluent son Myles Wilson, his wife Yasmine, and their two kids Rebecca and Charlie. Suddenly, the Wilson family household needs to adapt as lifestyles clash between rising hip-hop star Young Dylan and his straight-laced cousins.

Recently, Young Dylan was nominated for an orange blimp at the 2021 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in the Favorite Male TV Star category for his role in Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan.

“I cant believe it,” Dylan told Celeb Secrets regarding the honor in a recent interview. “It’s my first [KCAs], so that’s why I’m so excited to get slimed or get the blimp.”

When asked who he would thank in his acceptance speech, Young Dylan joked and told the news outlet that his “40-minute long speech” would include his family, Nickelodeon, Ellen DeGeneres, Tyler Perry and of course his fans who stuck with him from the beginning.

“I’m gonna thank so many people. My script is [probably] gonna be like 40 minutes long, but I’m not gonna make it that long, though.”

The 12-year-old didn’t take home the blimp this year, but we have a feeling that there will be many award wins to come. Make sure to stay tuned and ready for season two of Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan. It is bound to be just as funny as the last!
