Kaavia James is not a daddy’s girl like some may think. Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade recently took to TikTok to reveal who their daughter considers as the favorite parent. Hint: It’s not Dwyane Wade!

Gabrielle Union won the award for the favored parent. Most people, according to Gabrielle, believe Shady Baby is a daddy’s girl. Kaav certainly gets her shadiness from her mom. It was just a few days ago that Union shared a video clip that showed the actress giving the camera the side-eye like her daughter. “I don’t know where she gets it from,” the L.A.’s Finest actress mused.
Kaavia James’ personality will soon be on display in Dwyane and Gabrielle’s children’s book, Shady Baby. “This is our first children’s book we did together and we’re so excited for the world to read Shady Baby,” the celebrity parents shared. “Inspired by our daughter, Kaavia James, we wanted to create a children’s book that not only had a little Black girl as the main character but that also reflects the global community we live in.”
Kaav has certainly inspired her online base to embrace humor. The youngster has well over one million followers who actively engage with her posts. “That smile is everything,” one fan said in response to a candid of Kaav smiling while surrounded by bubbles. “It’s the cheeks, the smile, and the happy energy for me,” another social media follower agreed. “Absolutely adorable.”
Dwyane and Gabrielle hope the world gets to see another level of the Shady Baby they have come to love in their upcoming children’s book. “We hope to give the word ‘shady’ a more positive association and use it to represent one’s moral compass to do the right thing and stand up for themselves and others,” the celebrity couple shared during a recent interview about their forthcoming publication. “It’s important that little Black girls and boys get to see themselves in these fairy tales and for children of other races to see us in leadership roles.”
Kaavia James is Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union’s only child. The celebrity couple parents four kids in all. Shady Baby comes to bookstores nationwide on May 18, 2021.
