Nicki Minaj has shared the first photos of her son nicknamed “Papa Bear”. The rapper took to her Instagram earlier this morning to introduce her baby boy to the world. She captioned the series of photos, “#PapaBear thank you so very much for choosing me to be your mama. Wishing you guys a happy & prosperous New Year. Thank you for your love & support throughout this journey.”
She continued, “Itās meant so much to me. Becoming a mom is by far the most fulfilling job Iāve ever taken on. Sending love to all the superhero mothers out there. Big hugs to all the women who have been pregnant during this challenging time.”
Minaj welcomed her first child and son with husband Kenneth Petty on Sept. 30, 2020. The musician recently revealed that she almost named her son “Ninja” and that she is considering changing his name.
“You know what his name was supposed to be? I think l might still change it,” she shared during a chat with her fans on her radio. “A lot of people said they liked it, but I said, ‘Nah.’ His name was going to be Ninja.”
“I changed it at the last minute,” she added.
Nicki’s son recently turned 3 months old and the musician was sure to celebrate the milestone. “Happy 3 months Bday #PapaBear Mommy & Daddy love you soooo much. Youāre the best boy in the whole wide.”
Just earlier this week, Minaj opened up about labor and delivery and having a āpainfulā experience with breastfeeding.
āI was butt naked,ā she recalled to fans. āJust got out the shower & I asked him [husband Kenneth Petty] to rub my back. As soon as I started scooting over to him in the bed I just felt the water start coming out. I was weirdly calm & I quietly said āomg, Iām about to be in labor.”
Minaj added,”But breastfeeding is very painful,” she confessed. “Pumping is too. Women make this stuff look way too easy. Moms [are] really superheroes.”
