“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.🙏🏿 @forbes #BeYourBiggestFan,” McLaughlin posted on Instagram, sharing the good news with his fans.
The young multi-talented actor started his career on Broadway, debuting as Young Simba in “The Lion King”. Actor, singer, and dancer, McLaughlin went from Broadway to landing a role as Lucas Sinclair in Netflix’s Stranger Things, which is currently gearing up for season 4.

In addition to his popular series, McLaughlin is set to star in the film, Concrete Cowboys. McLaughlin will play opposite Idris Elba and Jharrel Jerome.
The director of the project, Ricky Staub, is already making comparisons to Denzel Washington, stating that, “This kid was reaching another level. Caleb blew me away,” said Staub in an interview with THR, who also is making his feature debut as a director. “His tape really became the one that I always went back to, that always stuck with me. I feel like I’m working with a young Denzel at the beginning of his career. Some of the performances he would pull out, like a scene in which he confronts [Elba’s character] — my eyes were welling. On the first run! This kid was reaching for another level.”
And of course, McLaughlin was equally as complementary of Staub in the same interview. “I was like, ‘Wow, this guy Ricky is so talented. I knew I had to jump on this with him and talk to him on the phone. And he was like, ‘Hey man, I want you to audition.’ A week later, I did a self-tape and didn’t hear back for a whole month. And then I heard that I got the role, and I was like, ‘I’m going to Philly!’”
The upcoming film centers on McLaughlin, who portrays Cole, a 15-year-old Detroit teen who’s sent to live with his estranged father, Elba, in Philadelphia. While there, a new world is opened up to the teen and he learns about an urban cowboy subculture.
Congratulations to Caleb! It looks like his star continues to rise and shine even brighter than ever before. We cannot wait to see what is to come for this truly talented young man.
