Wayne Brady and his ex-wife, Mandie Taketa, monitor their 17-year-old daughter Maile Masako Brady’s social media activity. The Let’s Make A Deal star recently explained why he and his ex-wife keep up with their daughter’s activity online.
According to Wayne, adult men message Maile in search of a date. The celebrity father even shared an instance in which Mandie interacted with one of the men.
“Mandie got on the line with one of them and was, you know, texting back and forth and he was talking slick, until he realized that it was her,” Brady told the co-hosts of The Talk. “And she’s like, ‘What the h*ll are you doing?’ And he’s like, ‘I just broke up with my girlfriend.’ That doesn’t mean anything. You tell that to your cellmate when we put you in jail. You can talk all about your post-breakup relationship then.”
Wayne Brady went on to condemn social media sites for not cracking down on potential predators. “All of the tap-dancing you need to do to get that person reported shouldn’t happen,” the celebrity father said. “If this is what social media is, make the tools available to deal with these reprehensible people,” the actor declared.
