Trolls continue to take the animated world by storm. If you thought their last movie, Trolls World Tour was the end, well, you were wrong because they are back with a new series slated to premiere November 19th!
Trolls: TrollsTopia! picks up the action after the events of the hit movie, Trolls World Tour.
The story will follow Poppy as she knows that there are other musical trolls throughout the forest. In total Poppy manner, she gathers up her bountiful positivity and invites delegates from every troll tribe to live together in harmony in TrollsTopia.
Trolls: TrollsTopia will feature many of the same voice actors as Netflix’s Trolls: The Beat Goes On.
This new series is some good news for the Trolls franchise and Poppy. If you remember, back in August, Toy giant Hasbro was in the news over their Trolls doll, “the DreamWorks Trolls World Tour Giggle and Sing Poppy.” The toy maker had to pull the doll from shelves after a petition with over 150K signatures accused Hasbro of promoting child abuse.
The complaints went on to specify that although the doll has two buttons, the one under her skirt, is inappropriate on multiple levels. The first button on her stomach when pressed prompted the doll to sing and say things like, “How about a hug?” The second button when pressed, prompted the doll to make sounds like “whee!” and “oh!”
Julie Duffy, Hasbro’s spokeswoman, told CNN that, “this feature was designed to react when the doll was seated, but we recognize the placement of the sensor may be perceived as inappropriate. This was not intentional and we are happy to provide consumers with a replacement Poppy doll of similar value through our Consumer Care team. We are in the process of removing the item for purchase.”
Trolls: TrollsTopia will debut on both Hulu and Peacock starting November 19th! Tune-in and let us know what you think about the new series.
