Kaavia Wade, the lovable daughter of actress Gabrielle Union and NBA legend Dwyane Wade, celebrated her second birthday on November 7, 2020.
Kaavia Wade, who Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade welcomed via surrogate in 2018, is an Internet darling known as “Shady Baby” for her funny facial expressions and sassiness. The proud parents were thrilled to celebrate their daughter’s birthday with an awesome party that included plenty of balloons, cupcakes, indoor tents, and face painting. Kaavia looked quite adorable with her tiger face paint, though her hilarious facial expressions showed what she really thought of it.
One funny post on Kaavia’s Instagram page (which her parents run) shows Kaavia sitting as her face gets painted. The post was captioned: “I think I need to be more specific when I ask for more contour. Blend gurl blend! @fentybeauty what’s good?”
Gabrielle Union posted one funny photo of Kaavia looking at her painted face in a mirror. She captioned the photo: “When the finished look doesn’t match the reference photo. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 🤣🤣 @kaaviajames

On Kaavia’s birthday, Gabrielle Union celebrated her daughter on Instagram with a beautiful slideshow of Kaavia. She captioned the post: “The light of our lives. The spark to our joy in dark times. The giggler of farts. The eater of alllll the food. The dancer to the jams. The smart, funny, adventurous, cutie that gave us a different kind of purpose. We ♥️ you sooooo much @kaaviajames Happy Birthday babygirl 👶🏾👶🏾👶🏾 #ShadyBabyTurns2.”
Dwyane Wade also took to Instagram to honor Kaavia on her special day. He posted a few pictures of himself with Kaavia and wrote a tribute in the caption, saying that since both his mother and Kaavia’s birthdays are on November 7, it is twice as special for him.
“November 7th was always a special day in my life because it’s my Mother’s birthday but now it’s times that special,” wrote Dwyane. “Happy 2nd Birthday to my BOSS @kaaviajames🎈🎈🎈aka Shady baby aka 2020 Meme Mood😂Thank you for providing laughter and joy to our lives and so many other families!”
