Matt Barnes and his ex-wife Gloria Govan came together to celebrate their twins 12th birthday on Friday(November 6th).
The Barnes Boys, Carter and Isaiah, enjoyed a birthday dinner surrounded by their family, including their mom’s fiancé, Derek Fisher, and a couple of his kids.

The former NBA player later surprised his sons with a surprise slumber party. “We had to cancel the twins’ birthday party because it’s supposed to rain tomorrow. So we just got back from dinner. And i got a last minute surprise party,” he said in a video.
Gloria also took to Instagram to wish her boys a ‘Happy Birthday’. “Today you two turn 12… and I just can’t believe how fast time has flown by. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to be your mom, best friend, and confidant. I find myself staring at you both, smiling, in awe at the little men you’re becoming. I cherish our conversations, our jokes and laughs, our kitchen dances, and silliness.”
She continued, “Thank you for being such incredible, so kind, caring, sensitive, smart, and talented little humans. And As you start another trip around the sun, I pray you continue to walk in faith and know that no matter what, I’ll be there by your side! Happy birthday, baby boys.”
Govan and Barnes were granted 50/50 custody of their children in August of last year. According to documents obtained by The Blast, the duo share legal and physical custody of their twin sons. The custody agreement states that their boys alternate weeks with each parent.
Barnes recently shared that he and Gloria are “co-parenting” and “providing the best atmosphere & childhood” for the children. He said of Fisher, who has been dating Govan since 2015, “They love him, so I love it.”
“Despite not seeing eye to eye initially [with] Derek,” Barnes added, “he & I are on the same page & communicate weekly” about the children.
