We saw Shaquille O’neal on the basketball court, proving that he had the moves to become an NBA Legend. We have seen him in the board room, buying into a joint venture partnership with Papa John’s pizza, proving that he is a consummate business man. He has been in numerous commercials, etc. etc., the list goes on.
As one of the most recognized faces on the planet, he also has one of the most recognized voices too. Well, O’neal is about to lend that voice to a new animated children’s series, Shaq’s Garage, which will premiere in early 2022. O’neal is not only slated to star in the upcoming series, he will also executive produce.
“In my new series Shaq’s Garage you’ll get a chance to meet the most amazing, tricked out assortment of vehicles that can only be found in my home,” O’neal posted on Instagram. “Follow the secret adventures of my collection of animated cars with their larger than life personalities, exciting missions, and of course, epic sound systems. Shaq’s Garage is a fun, accepting space for everyone.”
The series is set to launch on Genius Brands International’s Kartoon Channel and will feature adventure, comedy, positive messaging, and inspired music.
“We challenged ourselves to come up with the most exciting storylines and vehicle designs inspired by Toy Story, Tony Stark, and 007!, that could only be imagined by ‘Big Diesel,’ himself,” stated Genius Brands Chairman & CEO Andy Heyward in a recent press release. “The lead vehicle is named Big Diesel and will be voiced by Shaq.”
O’neal followed up by saying, “Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated by cars. I’m so excited to bring this series to life with Genius Brands. We plan to showcase the most amazing, tricked out assortment of vehicles that can only be found in my garage. They will all have larger than life personalities, larger than life missions and of course, larger than life sound systems. One of our cars is a vehicle missing a wheel, but she is as strong, fast, and smart as any other vehicle. This will be a kid’s show which will highlight inclusivity for all.”
O’neal unquestionably seems like he is ready for some animated fun and we are ready to see his venture! It’s a shame that we have to wait until 2022!
