"That's What Family Is There For"

Nelly’s sister, Jackie Donahue, passed away on March 24, 2005, after a long battle with leukemia. The 31-year-old left behind two kids, Sidney and Shawn Jr., who Nelly raised as his own after his sister’s death.

“It was just one of those situations where it was a no-brainer,” Nelly recently said of his decision to raise his sister’s children. “That’s what you do,” the Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) contestant added. “That’s what family is there for. We pick up the pieces, and we mold each other and help shape each other.”
