Like most professional sports organizations, the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) keeps its athletes in a restricted “bubble” environment as they compete, due to COVID-19. Tennis great Serena Williams spends her time in the “bubble” as she gears up for the 2020 U.S. Open on August 31, and there to support her are husband, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian Sr. and their 2-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
Alexis Ohanian Sr. recently took to Instagram to post an adorable photo of him and Olympia sitting together and wearing facemasks (though his mask was hanging off his face) in the WTA’s “bubble.” He captioned the post: “Thank you @wta @usta for a safe environment in the Bubble. @olympiaohanian and I are very happy to be “bubbled,” regularly getting tested, and Masked Up in order to safely get folks back to work. 🙌 Proud of this kid for being such a champ throughout. You can tell I’m about to get a swab up my nose whereas she’s on ready set for hers. 😆😷.”
Alexia Ohanian Sr. posted another Instagram photo of himself wearing a mask with Olympia on her phone as they watched Serena compete in the Top Seed Open on August 11. He captioned the post: “Mama back at work in Kentucky at the Top Seed Open. And yes @olympiaohanian was busy on her phone probably checking up on @weareangelcity emails. Also proud #GirlDad flexing his hair routine on Jr today.”
As for Serena Williams, when she’s not playing tennis, she’s busy trying on her daughter’s clothes. Serena took to Instagram to post a clip of herself wearing one of Olympia’s shirts, a white shirt with red stars on it, along with a picture of Olympia wearing the same shirt for comparison. Considering their size difference, Olympia’s shirt fit Serena like a crop top. “I knew me and my daughter would be wearing the same size soon,” said Serena. She captioned the post: “Must. Swipe Right.”
